Exhibit Story:

As much fun as I had with the life of a studio artist, I needed a career with the possibility of growth. There was an opening for a fabricator at a local exhibit house; I applied, was hired, and started over the course of a few days. Little did I know that this company had some of the most amazing clients and opportunities.

After a few months in the shop, there was an opening for a design detailer, and I jumped on it. It was a technical focused position that allowed me to play in the gap between fabrication and design. Over time 3d modeling and rendering became essential parts of my design process.

Recent Project Highlights

2017 NYC Marathon Expo

  • Client: New Balance/ Sub Rosa
  • Role: Designer, Detailer, Setup.
    • 30,000sq' main sponsor booth.
    • Massive technical and logistical undertaking.
    • Year long development process.
    • Concrete aesthetic.

I was Initially involved in the conceptual design process and helped translate the brainstorms into a buildable concept. After a few rounds of revisions, the project was sold, and it was time for production to begin. A sizeable detailed drawing packet was needed to assist hundreds of employees in the week-long setup. I also helped out in on the last days of install and snap a few photos.

    • Bold upcycle aesthetic.
    • Custom video loop.
    • Fully breaks down into crate.
    • LED lighting accents.
    • SEG fabric panels with magnetic logo.

This was a fun chance to play with texture and light and push . Also this gave me the opportunity to brush up on my After Effect skills to make a Portfolio Loop with playful employee cameos.

2016 Exhibitor Booth

  • Client: Creatacor Inc.
  • Role: Designer, Detailer, Fabrication, Setup.
    • All reused scrap from shop.
    • Art panels attach to b62 Matrix system.
    • Fully breaks down into crate.
    • Installed into Conference room after show.

This project was a chance for me actually to build the exhibit I designed. And I had a blast! Each piece of the back wall was carefully cut and placed to provide the best aesthetics and allow it to be broken down into smaller panels. Following the show the company used the boards as an accent wall in the main conference room.

Matrix Rental Concepts

  • Client: Creatacor Inc.

    • Crafted affordable rental catalogue.
    • Pre-made design renders with adjustable graphics.
    • Quick turnaround solutions.

Rental concepts provide me with a unique opportunity to craft a product and see it through to the end. I like taking in every aspect of the development from client to logistics and learning how to design a product better.
